It's been a long time since we went out as a family during a Sunday. It's because dad's away most of the time and it's only me, my mom and my sister who often goes to church.
However today, even my brother went with us to go to the anniversary of Proclaim His Name Christian Fellowship and to celebrate Ptr. Clem Guillermo's birthday. We proceeded to Trinoma afterwards to buy shoes and shirts for ourselves and then to Greenhills to shop some more. Only Jonah, Lyda and Mommy bought shoes from there because I already spent so much for one day. heheh! And then we ate again. wooh! We decided to eat at Luk Yuen since it was the nearest, decent restaurant in the tiangge area. Only the siomai had a picture though.
We'll miss you daddy!!! WE LOVE YOU!!! |
dad sure loves to kid around...

The girl from Doushitte...
I was watching the japanese drama Bloody Monday which stars Miura Haruma of Koizora (the movie version) when I noticed this girl as one of the supporting cast...

 the guy is Miura Haruma
Then I remembered that she's the girl in the promotional video of Tohoshinki's Doushitte Kimi Wo Suki Ni Natte Shimatan Darou.

She's pretty right? and she does not really look like a Japanese. Her name's Fujii Mika, 20 years old (she's young!) and it seems like she's new in the show business. There are only a few dramas and movies under her name and she's mostly doing supporting roles. I can't find more information about her.
Good luck to her! I can't wait to see her starring in her own drama.

And so my quest to achieve more things this year haven't stopped yet. Yesterday, I learned that I passed the auditions for the GMA Choir. *woot! tumbling!* I actually tried out without telling other people (meaning my officemates) because I was afraid I'm not going to pass. Even though I already have experience in choir singing , its still different of course when you audition for a company choir. I do not consider myself a strong singer because well, I'm an alto and there's a limit to my voice range.
Anyway, I think this is one opportunity that is too good to just let pass so I decided to have a try. I even missed the first day of the audition because it was my day off. Good thing they had a second one and even though I was having second thoughts, I rushed off the last minute to go to the audition room. I imagined myself auditioning for SM Ent and thought, if Joongie can do it, so can I. haha! As if...he is much, much, much more talented than I am.
Three weeks passed and there was no word from them, until yesterday. We had our first meeting and met our conductor Mr. Allan. He is kinder than I expected him to be. I mean, I imagined him to be strict and all that (I guess Beethoven's Virus is having too much influence on me) but he is really fun. He has a lot of anecdotes too about the artists he has trained with. (Janno Gibbs, Ryan Cayabyab and Gabby Eigenmann to name a few...)
He classified our voices into soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Surprisingly, he placed me at soparano 2. What!!! That is one part I really don't want to go to since it is hard to sing in between alto and soprano. My ears are trained to do the alto part and I've been an alto since I've started singing in choirs. I was screaming my lungs, diaphragm and voice out with the effort to reach the notes he was playing but then, he has more experience than I do. I'll just do my best wherever he placed me. But I am still welcome to be an alto.
We also learned that the reason why they formed the choir was for us to join a competition. I was initially surprised since I thought the choir was made to perform in GAs and Christmas party. haha! But, challenges are fun and honestly, I am looking forward to it. Who knows, we might win right? I really love choral singing and even though initially I am nervous during performances, it eventually changes to excitement.
GMA Choir, we can do it! Bring it on!!!

I hate cramming but yeah, I still do it. It seems I work best during crunch time but I should not do it now...not if i don't want to puke because of too much information that I cannot consolidate and digest.
Yesterday morning, at this same time, i was busy panicking with my report about Southeast Asian history. I tell you, it is not a very good feeling. I don't want to be embarassed in front of the class because I did not do well in the report so I stayed up until 5:30am to finish my part which included the geography, earliest people of southeast asia, their migration, their languages, prehistory, Kingdom of Vietnam, Funan, Champa, Chenla and Khmer. I was hyperventilating, I lost my appetite for eating and I wanted to puke. Really... my stomach was churning all the time even though I haven't eaten something unpleasant. Yeah...I really didn't think I could finish my report. T_T I tried my best not to cram but I got distracted from doing other well, not so important things. Grrr...I hate myself for doing that.
Some things also came up unexpectedly. I already planned how I'm going to pace myself for the week so that I could finish everything by Friday. Unfortunately, my sister's OJT at a hotel finishes at 11:00pm and my mother did not want her to sleep at the hotel. Being the umm..filial (hahaha!) daughter that I am, I agreed when she asked me if we could fetch her. That happened for three straight days so more than 6 hours of my study time were used up because of that. That is a lot, really.
I'm thankful though that my report came out okay. I know I could have done better and I felt bad that it came out mediocre. Waaah! I was stupid to forget what maharaja is. I promise I will make up for it next Saturday. Hay...one more month to go. I still have 1 exam and 2 term papers to do. At least I've started doing one of the papers already and the topics I've chosen are interesting for me so I don't think I would have a hard time doing it....hopefully.
There...wake me up when September ends.

And so, it's the -ber months once again. Gee! how fast time flies. Before we knew it, it will be December already, the month to celebrate the birth of Christ and exchange gifts.
The Philippines is heralded as having the longest Christmas celebration ever. Don't you just love being a Filipino?
And yeah, for some nostalgic moments, I remember that during this time of the year, I was excited and doing some countdown for my first ever out-of-the-country trip to Bangkok, Thailand. For this year, I doubt that I will be able to go somewhere else. I am so out of money. hahaha! I definitely should start saving now to be able to go to Japan next year.
Merry Christmas!

It was Hersheys' last day with us last Thursday because we had to give her to her new owner Julie, who was my blockmate in UP during undergrad years. We were of course sad which is a natural reaction for a person who has to part with someone special -- in this case, this someone is not a person but a puppy.
Mommy cried because she was the puppies' grandmother. She really does not want to give anyone away but it's hard to raise five puppies at the same time. They even eat more than I do! She repeatedly told Hersheys to be a good girl so that her new owner will not punish her.
But I know, there's nothing to much to worry about because Hersheys is in safe hands. Knowing Julie, she loves her pets very much that she allows them to scratch her. *painful*
Because we just can't let Hersheys go just like that, we took pictures as remembrance.

Byebye Hersheys! We will definitely miss you,

[REVIEW] X Files, I Want To Believe

Mulder and Scully comes back to the big screen with X Files, I Want to Believe, 10 years after the first X files movie. The duo is not working at the FBI anymore - Dr.Scully is in a hospital while Mulder...is still Mulder. However, with the case of a missing agent in their hands and a psychic who claims to know where she is, the FBI enlists the help of Mulder to find her. However, they do not have an idea where he is so they contact Scully who easily finds him. Mulder agrees to help and also involves the skeptical Scully in the case.
The movie did not have exactly what we call an x-file storyline, which means having aliens or paranormals in its story plot though it involves a psychic who was a former priest convicted with pedophilia. The movie will still keep you at the edge of your seat mostly because you are left wondering why they are kidnapping women and what do they do with their bodies. There are clues scattered throughout the movie but of course, everything comes to full circle only at the end. The priest is also a big mystery because his criminal past makes you doubt whether or not he is a real psychic.
MAJOR SPOILER BEGINS HERE.
There are tv episodes that are much better, my friend who is a big X-Files fan said. However, what I liked most was the revelation of the relationship between Mulder and Scully. Yes, for all Mulder-Scully shippers, this movie confirms it all. They are indeed together. I am not claiming to be an X-files fan because the series is beyond my generation but I have seen the first movie (which I watched over and over again) and some television episodes. It is obvious that Mulder and Scully has something going on between them but they keep denying it. To end it once and for all, they finally revealed it here. Can I hear the Mulder-Scully shippers cheering?
This is, I think, the major reason why X files, I Want to Believe is worth watching. With Mulder and Scully confirming that they are a couple, their fans now are pretty contented. Gone are the days of alient hunting which is now replaced with battling evil that is in man itself.
One thing is for sure, I would love to see David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in a romantic movie together...not playing their roles as FBI agents of course.

Yey! our puppies turned one month old yesterday. They certainly deserve a birthday post. =D
Look at how fuzzy and cute they all turned out to be. hehe! it's really hard to take decent pictures of them because they are so active and can't stay still. One month more and they all have to go to their respective owners. huhuhu! I will definitely miss them. I do hope they will all become good dogs so that their owners will treat them well.
WE LOVE YOU!!!

I was surfing Pag-asa's website last Saturday for any updates on the low pressure area when I saw something interesting. It seemed like two people were chatting and it was encoded into the website. Obviously, the one who posted it was an employee of pag-asa since s/he was discussing about the weather and s/he definitely had time to spare chat. I wonder who this is?

The boxed portion says "heto ok lang. dito na ako sa ofis. maulan ngayon dito sa Manila dahil sa low pressure pero hindi naman mabubuong bagyo. ikaw musta dyan?"
I feel like a voyeur looking into other people's conversation but I didn't mean it. Hopefully pag-asa will be more careful next time since they might post something confidential only to their bureau.
